4th Year Electives

  • We ask that you do not reach out to ERMEP preceptors to try to set up your own elective.  Please contact ERMEP.

  • All electives must be a minimum of 4-weeks and completed in one community.  4-week electives can be broken down into different disciplines (e.g.: 2 weeks FM & 2 weeks EM etc.)

  • All electives are dependent on preceptor availability.

  • All Ontario medical learners can apply directly to ERMEP.

Out of Province/Country Canadian Learners
  • Please contact ERMEP to discuss available 4th/Final Year electives before you apply to the AFMC Student Portal.

  • Once you have been accepted by ERMEP you will be instructed to apply with AFMC/uOttawa for your elective.

  • ERMEP funds all 4th/Final Year electives in Rural Eastern Ontario that are a minimum of 4-weeks.

To reduce cancellations, please be sure you only apply to one network for a 4-week rotation.
