4th Year Electives

To reduce cancellations, please be sure you only apply to one network for a 4-week rotation.

  • We ask that you do not reach out to ERMEP preceptors to try to set up your own elective.  Please contact ERMEP.

  • All 4th year electives must be a minimum of 4-weeks and completed in one community.  4-week electives can be broken down into two 2-week specialties.

  • All electives are dependent on preceptor availability.

  • Ontario medical learners can apply directly to ERMEP.

Out of Country/Province Learners

All out-of-country/province medical learners must apply with the AFMC Student Portal, and you will apply with the University of Ottawa.  Please visit the uOttawa page on the AFMC Portal website for more information regarding 4th year electives with ERMEP.

Please do not apply with ERMEP for a 4th year elective unless you have been given instructions to apply.  Thank you.
